Lessons and Reflections in Ed-Tech 2 Final Term

REFLECTION
In this chapter, one thing that I really agreed of, is that computer does not replace the teacher, because still the teacher role is assigned as a facilitator and guide for computers material. The computer cannot totally replace the teacher since the teacher shall continue to play the major roles of information deliverer and learning environment controller. Computer will remain as tool for guidance and enhancement of students learning and knowledge.

REFLECTION

A unique characteristic of computers is that they not only represent process, but they also naturally keep track of the actions used to carry out a given task, so that the process and its trace can become an object of study in its own right. Using computer contribute to the teacher in a way that it facilitate their instructional methods and improve their instructional materials and also to the students in a way that it contributes a lot in their cognitive development and learning experiences. In general using computer can help the teacher to easily create and plan objectives for more fun and interesting learning.

REFLECTION
In “the traditional classroom” the teacher has the difficulty to manage the misbehavior of students because of their lack attention and not really motivate to listen. Teachers simply stare and discuss the lecture presentation. It is better to use SCL classroom which is Student-Centered Learning where the teacher must perform his/her role of teaching effectively so that learning can occur. And the good outcome is become active and not passive learners, who can interact with other learners, demonstrating independence and self-awareness in the learning process.

REFLECTION

Cooperative or Collaborative Learning is learning by small groups of students who work together in a common learning task. It is also called Group Learning. The responsibility of the teacher will have to respond to the situation, and so cooperative learning will be used in the implementation of IT. As a student and as a future teacher this cooperative learning with computer is really a great resources because it promote learning and teamwork with the other students. Cooperative learning is not just collaborative to other students and teachers but also getting information from computer.

REFLECTION

Using hypermedia is very useful not only with the teacher but also with the students because it address us to become motivate and get our attention to have a prior knowledge.  Hypermedia also informs learner of a lesson objectives. By using those text, graphics, audio, animation, video clips and etc. can simply understand of what the lesson really implies and indicate to the learners for them to adopt the knowledge. But then, information and communication technology cannot replace the teachers all together, because even technologies admit that the computer has an IQ of zero and depends on what man can put or make of it.
